We have worked tirelessly to tackle the most pressing challenges faced by underprivileged communities and we are a proud member of the international Humana People to People Movement. Our journey began in Soweto, and today, our work aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and South Africa's National Development Plan (NDP). 1. Community Development & Youth Empowerment
Child Aid is our grassroots initiative that creates safe and nurturing environments for children. We engage youth in skills training and clubs, promoting sustainable practices like garden farming and healthy living. Your gift helps us build stronger communities from the ground up.
2. Education: The Preschool of the Future
We believe that a strong foundation in education is key. Our Preschool of the Future (POF) movement is revolutionizing ECD - early childhood education in disadvantaged areas. We train teachers with a unique blend of humanitarian values and educational expertise, ensuring young minds get the start they deserve.
3. Climate Adaptation, Biodiversity & Conservation Agriculture
We are committed to protecting our planet. Your donation helps us establish climate change centres that support nature-based solutions. This includes restoring ecosystems, protecting landscapes, and educating communities on vital mitigation strategies and new methods of farming which do not harm the soil and the environment.
4. Health - (HIV, TB, NCD & Malaria): Fighting Epidemics & Promoting Wellness
For over two decades, our Total Control of the Epidemic (TCE) and HOPE programs have been pivotal in enhancing public health. In 2017, we expanded our efforts by introducing our Malaria Elimination program. Through these programs, we've provided vital information and counselling on HIV/AIDS, STI, TB, NCDs, and malaria prevention to more than 6 million people. Your support allows us to continue this life-saving work.
5. Food Security: Cultivating Local Nourishment
We empower communities to start their own backyard gardens. By encouraging them to sell their produce, we help them create income-generating activities while also feeding their families. We promote home and community gardens to reduce reliance on expensive, unhealthy food, and your contribution helps us secure a future with abundant, nutritious food for everyone.
6. Livelihoods and Economic Strengthening: Empowering AYP – Adolescent and Young People
Our program equips adolescent girls and young women with the practical knowledge, mentorship, and entrepreneurial support they need to become self-sufficient. Investing in women uplifts entire families and communities, creating a brighter future for all.
