SADC Malaria Week aims to raise awareness, mobilise communities to take ownership over the fight to end malaria, promote partnership and advocate for support from key decision makers and stakeholders for malaria control and elimination efforts in the Region.

About SADC Malaria Week 2020

The signing of the Windhoek Declaration to Eliminate Malaria in SADC by 2030 re-affirmed SADC’s political commitment to end malaria. SADC Malaria Week provides a unique opportunity to encourage SADC Heads of State and Government to advance advocacy, action, resource mobilisation and accountability to end malaria in the region by 2030.

Malaria Edu-Series 2020

The SADC region has made progress against malaria resulting in reductions in cases and deaths—but more progress is necessary to achieve the targets set by the SADC Region.

With the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and through the action of African Governments, partners and communities 2020 remained a critical year for accelerating and sustaining malaria this progress.
